I share a brief Monthly 35 with you to kick off the year. I took a small step back from shooting people (sort of) and tried to focus more on still life. A handful of close friends have continued suggesting I try more compositional integrated photography, perhaps I’ve burnt the audience out on people of the city… So I strolled through the parks, or quieter areas by the lake, yet I still managed to find myself drawn toward people. I would argue that despite my ~ let it fly street style ~ I do seek those urban landscape shots; as they are scattered throughout my work. But they are only captured as they present themselves to me. Perhaps still life is more elusive or just as much so as moments of people enjoying the curious and mundane. Either way, as the Winter months continue to challenge the process, it has been refreshing to take a different perspective and find other rhythms.
